The new building, Shatin Communications and Technology Centre (SCTC) is significant to the Hong Kong Jockey Club in supporting to business growth and to deliver a new and better world-class working environment for staff. The operation of SCTC is involving a wide range of business functions and specialists, plus environmental-friendly building facilities. It brings together a series of core operations within an improved, more sustainable environment which caters to the long-term operational requirements of the Club. Each floorplate of this ten-storey building is about 5,000 square metres, and there is a six metre deep basement housing plant rooms.

Measuring a gross floor area of over 50,000 m2, the new facility has been a significant undertaking for the Property – Facilities Management team of the Hong Kong Jockey Club. This has been the largest office move in Jockey Club history with over one thousand staff members being involved in this transition. The building accommodates the Club’s Main Telebet Centre, an Integrated Call Centre, the IT Department, Broadcasting Department facilities including their television studios, and a Hong Kong Jockey Club College for ongoing development of Club employees. The College, on the top floor, opens onto a tree-filled courtyard which leads up to a split level roof garden with uninterrupted views of the racecourse. The project is aiming for BEAM Plus Gold and LEED Gold certification. With a strong focus on sustainability, the main green and advanced features in this building include Solar Thermal Hot Water System, Rain Water Harvesting System, Daylight Dimming System, Video Conference System for all meeting rooms, Green Wall and Green Roof, etc.
