Details:

To achieve energy efficient chiller plant operation, other than selection of energy efficient equipment, optimised control of chiller plant operation has also noticeable impact.

In the first part of the seminar, Mr. Victor Leung will discuss how to maximise chiller operating efficiency by operating optimised quantity of equipment to achieve optimum operating condition.  Besides the control of chiller plant delivery to no more than necessary for satisfying system requirement, control of chiller plant operation instead of focusing on individual item of equipment or operating parameter is important for maximising overall plant energy efficiency.

Retro-commissioning is commissioning for an existing building with the aim of optimising the building operation.  It is a systematic process of identifying improvement and optimisation opportunities of the Central Building Services Installations through searching for the indicators of the underlying building operational irregularities which would lead to inefficient energy use and poor indoor environment; and subsequent implementation of those identified opportunities for achieving building optimisation.

In the second part of the seminar, Mr. Kenneth Li will introduce the background for Retro-commissioning, and then he will cover the definition and scope of Retro-Commissioning as well as the benefits and challenges ahead, followed by the procedure in carrying out Retro-Commissioning.  Case sharing will also be included to demonstrate some common findings.
